Steve Gartner

      Nashville recording artist & song writer

    Steve Gartner's music career started  in Chicago.  He was

 exposed to some of the older musicians who had influenced

 him.  He played on the same stage with Buddy Guy,  Koko 

 Taylor and other blues heroes.  He also played the guitar for

 a William Russo production at Colombia College.

  

    In 1995, he moved to Nashville, TN where he worked with 

people like saxophone virtuoso, Phil Kenzie.  Also, from the 

GUESS WHO, Dale Russell.  He did shows with Walter Egan

who wrote the hit song, Magnet and Steel, Micheal Herring and 

so many of the unsung masters of Music City. 

  

    He was signed to the independent label, Third Planet Records

 where he completed his first album with Doug Kimball and Rob 

 Barnesi.  After that album, he produced another project himself 

 with new material.  

 

    In Nashville, his band  "Shelby Street" (Tim Polite- drummer,

 Ed Caine- bassist) backed up Michael McDonald of The Doobie

 Brothers. 

  

    He is a song writer, poet ,music producer ,composer and soulful 

 guitar player.  Currently, he is a resident of Orlando, FL.
